Shiva Navazani illustrates the latest SHERPA's findings to a major PV medium outlet
12/07/2025
In the framework of the SHERPA project, along with our colleagues at University of Rome Tor Vergata, we are addressing two major challenges in metal halide perovskite (MHP) solar cells: reducing lead content while maintaining high power conversion efficiency. Our team deployed a laser-patterning technology to yield microfabrication designs for improved efficiency and resistance to thermal stress. Preliminary results on small-area devices (2.5 cm × 2.5 cm) are promising, though long-term performance, degradation, and lead release studies are still ongoing. Early findings were shared at PVSPACE 2023, EUPVSEC 2024, and HOPV 2025, but peer-reviewed results are pending.
